Kaspar Hauser Records is a record label. We release music that can be classified as (a mixture of) electro-acoustic experiments, homemade lo-fi, drones, improvisations, collages and/or indie(tronics). Generally we like to focus on quiet, innovative music in which sound, song structure, atmosphere and/or form are dealt with in an uncommon manner. In times when people listen to mp3's, we think it's important to offer more than just the music. For every release we work with a young artist who designs a sleeve that is always (partially) handmade. All releases are limited and numbered editions. Formats used include cd-r, vinyl and tapes.
This is the newest branch in the Kaspar Hauser Records Media Group universe. These concert nights, mostly in Antwerp (Belgium), are not really labelnights, since we book other bands and musicians as well. We've done quite some shows at the Logement venue in Borgerhout before the city of Antwerp decided to tear down the building. We switched to houseshows for a while and nowadays are setting up shows at the Kavka venue, located in the centre of Antwerp. Artists booked include Svarte Greiner, Xela, Greg Haines, Wixel, Rafael Anton Irisarri, Drekka, Nadja, Sylvester Anfang, Ignatz, Tara Jane O'Neil, Jackie-O Motherfucker, Fieldhead and The Puddle Parade.
Feel free to send us demo's and records for the label, the KHR concerts and our radio show at Radio Centraal (Antwerp 106.7 fm, saturday 11am). Please, do have a look first at our roster and only send us something if you think it would fit the label. Designers who want to do record sleeves are also very welcome to send some stuff. Our postal address is on the contactpage.
